Punk Rock Posters
I'm a fan. I first got into Punk Rock in my hometown of Edinburgh - and my first loves were Buzzcocks and Ultravox (the John Foxx era ONLY - I was devastated when John left the band and was replaced by Midge Ure).
To this day I still see around 40 bands a year - and am as up for live gigs as I ever was. The buzz factor is very much still present - and at the ripe old age of nearly 43 - I hope it continues.
There have been many books written about the musical revolution of the late 70s - but very few feature extensive coverage of posters (with the exception of the Sex Pistols’ book "Satellite") - so this new website was born out of failure - the failure to find a decent supply of posters dedicated to the UK Punk scene.
It's taken a couple of years to move from frustration to fruition and along the way I've had plenty of encouragement from my wife Anne. Max from www.sceneonthe.net
has also been invaluable in helping me transform my dream into reality. Thanks to both for your patience.
The site will be up and running in the next few days - www.punkrockposters.net:
I will displaying 321 posters/flyers from 1976-2005. The vast majority of them are from 1976 to 1980.
