Rimbaud & Roll.
Land (1975-2002) is the first retrospective package from Patti Smith. The 2-disc anthology features one disc of "greatest hits" & a second disc of demos, rarities, alternate vershuns & live cuts (all previously unreleased).
Contracted by Arista to release a best of package - Patti recently commented that when approached by the label to compile CD 1 she confessed to feeling somewhat fraudulent - having only had one genuine "hit" in her career. Instead she suggested a fan poll be conducted to establish the collections running order this selection has been augmented by a brand new trak a typically unique vershun of Princes "When Doves Cry".
The packaging is sumptuous a fold out digi-pack affair with an expansive booklet rammed full of photos, lyrics & comments from Patti herself.
Released by Arista Records in the UK sometime in April, Land (1975-2002) is the perfect introduction to the high priestess of poetic punk.

Patti Smith remains one of the strongest female role models in the history of R&R some 30 years after she 1st exploded onto the nascent NYC punk scene.
"Piss Factory" remains one of the greatest records ever made.
Below are some of our favourite images of Patti.
How could you fail to fall in love?
Iron cross my heart & hope to die.
